My rating: 4 of 5 stars
My favourite part about Cassie Clare's novel is that I get to see my precious child, Jem Carstairs in each of her works.

The entire Parabatai lively and soulful part turns out to be a scary horror story when it is revealed at the end of the book why Parabatai can't engage in romantic love. Well, the reason was far more horrific than expected, because anyway half of the Clave's rules don't make any sense.
Insert Law. "The Law is Hard. But it is the law."
There's a very prominent reference made from the clockwork prince.
The Parabatai law mentions two names, Silas Pangborn and Eloisa Ravenscar. They both were parabatai and fell in love with each other. In 1857 the Clave meeting was held in London Institute which was witnessed by Magnus Bane.
Silas Pangborn was the brother of Barbara Pangborn(mother of Gabriel Lightwood and wife of Benedict Lightwood). Silas committed suicide because he can't stand the chance of being away from his love. After this incident, his sister Barbara too died.
Benedict manipulated this information and spread it as Grandville Fairchild(Charlotte Fairchild's father), Silas's best friend revealed this information to Clave, Silas took his life because of shame and so did his sister.
But the actual truth was Grandville Fairchild never did it.
Barbara Lightwood got infected with Demon Pox because of her husband Benedict Lightwood and thus she died. Benedict hid this thing from his children and encouraged his kids to take revenge on Fairchilds.
