Review: Queen of Air and Darkness

Queen of Air and Darkness Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The amount of pain this book has driven me through is immersive!!! Especially in the first part of the book. Where everything started falling apart, and later in the second part things started to get a little better, it started getting more and more worse. Out of 900 pages, only the last 100 pages were kind of relief and happy-happy moment, yet you are always scared because Cassie can do literally anything in the last 10 pages and be like "Oh I don't think it is such a big deal, ykr I can do worse?!"
Also, the epilogue. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! I want an explanation of what is going to happen. This Jace from parallel dimension Thule, he's after Clary now. Gosh. My head is already breaking.

There were many moments in this book, which made me sob like a maniac. The starting itself was so chaotic, with the death of Robert Lightwood, Livia Blackthorn. During the funeral of Robert where Kit saw his parabatai Micheal Wayland kneeling nearby his pyre and crying. Moments after Julian asked Magnus to put the spell over him so that he could erase his feelings towards Emma to control the spread of the curse, the reaction Ty gave after losing his twin, meeting Livvy of the Thule dimension & seeing her giving up on her entire family after Sebastian taking over their land, the world without Clary, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus where the endarkened are ruling over, Tessa of the Thule dimension giving up on her life and hearing her how Jem died in the world, Keiran's separation from Mark and Christina, Deigo watching his brother on the verge of death and especially the letter which Livvy wrote for Ty.

About Emma and Julian, let's not go there. After a moment, I have given up on any kind of hope that the situation is going to get better. When Heavenly Fire captured both of them and they started destroying everything around them. Even though I tried to ignore their relationship and focus on the other parts of the story, I simply can't because everything else was equally devastating. Each and every character was suffering, so was I. I recall, how much pain both the characters have gone through, since the starting of the Dark War. The way both of their introduction was, and the change that brought them now. The situation that changed a lively, happy boy's heart into ruthless and manipulative :'(

I swear Deanborns, Manuels and those bigots deserve a much more painful and cold death. As Emma said, Zara should be punished for cleaning toilets for a lifetime!!!

Review: The Shadows Between Us

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller My rating: 3 of 5 stars View all my reviews This is the story of a girl who doesn't want a prince charming or a king. She wants to be the queen and a kingdom to rule! The Shadows Between Us is a Slytherin Romance, tracing our morally dark protagonists Alessandra and The Shadow King, Kallias, and their journey to fall in love. Let's start with something beautiful. “They've never found the body of the first and only boy who broke my heart. And they never will.” For something claiming to be dark and morbid, this is pretty light. There are several areas of the book that is being touched from the surface and left as it is. For instance, our central characters, Alessandra and Kallias. Both of them are shown as dark & morally grey, but there is no justification given behind their behavior, their psychology. They are being simply shown it's the way both of them are. Coupled with t...

Review: City of Bones

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare My rating: 3 of 5 stars View all my reviews The first world in the mortal instruments series begins with 16-year-old Clary Fray comes across this group of Shadowhunters, part humans and part angels who kill the creatures from Downworld to main the harmony between the human world and the shadow world. Later hunting the riddles of her earlier life and about her mom, Jocelyn Fray who was also a Shadowhunter, running all her life to keep Clary away from the same world. The world-building by Cassandra Clare is absolutely fabulous and powerful enough to draw the attention of a reader, who gets to know about this Shadowhunters world. Especially for a Fantasy lover, no way he/she can keep himself/herself away from the sphere. There are Shadowhunters, there are Downworlders which includes Vampires, Werewolves, Warlocks, Faeries and so much more! And each one of them is bound to a certain kind of rule and way of l...
