Review: An Enchantment of Ravens

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson My rating: 2 of 5 stars I finished reading this book and now I totally understand what bothers the readers who have finished reading the same. It bothers me too. My biggest complaint with this book is a major part of this book(actually the entire plot) revolves around the relationship of the main characters and that itself is something that is not very satisfying. If you don't know what this story is about, it follows our main girl Isobel who is an artist and she makes portraits for the fair folks. One day the Autumn price Rook visits her and asks for a portrait. They fell in love but the Good Law forbids the love between a mortal and fair folk. And you can see where this is going. The love between them was insta love. Even though the way they fell for each other, and the initial part of their meeting was very much elegant. But what happens later does pisses me off. We never encountered the part wher...

Review: Queen of Air and Darkness

Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare My rating: 5 of 5 stars The amount of pain this book has driven me through is immersive!!! Especially in the first part of the book. Where everything started falling apart, and later in the second part things started to get a little better, it started getting more and more worse. Out of 900 pages, only the last 100 pages were kind of relief and happy-happy moment, yet you are always scared because Cassie can do literally anything in the last 10 pages and be like "Oh I don't think it is such a big deal, ykr I can do worse?!" Also, the epilogue. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! I want an explanation of what is going to happen. This Jace from parallel dimension Thule, he's after Clary now. Gosh. My head is already breaking. There were many moments in this book, which made me sob like a maniac. The starting itself was so chaotic, with the death of Robert Lightwood, Livia Blackthorn. During the funera...

Review: Lord of Shadows

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare My rating: 4 of 5 stars 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬. 𝐈 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬!!! At first, when I read about the Parabatai forbidden law, thought it is some random stupid law made by Clave just because they hate the idea of love. Later it got revealed it is no law that forbids parabatai from falling in love it's the "curse" that does so. The curse itself is so messed up and evil, which turns the person into a monster erasing all his/her rationality and difference between good&evil. This will lead to the destruction of all his loved ones and family. I'll hit this Seelie Queen. She said to Jules that she knows how to break the Parabatai curse. But there is a COST. And the"cost" is it will lead to the d...

Review: Lady Midnight

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare My rating: 4 of 5 stars My favourite part about Cassie Clare's novel is that I get to see my precious child, Jem Carstairs in each of her works. #jemcarstairsismyyinfen The entire Parabatai lively and soulful part turns out to be a scary horror story when it is revealed at the end of the book why Parabatai can't engage in romantic love. Well, the reason was far more horrific than expected, because anyway half of the Clave's rules don't make any sense. Insert Law. "The Law is Hard. But it is the law." There's a very prominent reference made from the clockwork prince. The Parabatai law mentions two names, Silas Pangborn and Eloisa Ravenscar. They both were parabatai and fell in love with each other. In 1857 the Clave meeting was held in London Institute which was witnessed by Magnus Bane. Silas Pangborn was the brother of Barbara Pangborn(mother of Gabriel Lightwood and wife of Benedict Lig...
